I found a lovely, simple Art Nouveau design sterling brooch at a thrift store. There were no stones, yet a space in the design where one could easily fit. I took the brooch to my studio and held this incredible Ethiopian Opal to the center of the brooch, and knew that I had to bring them together.
By sheer coincidence, the backplate, on which I stamped my artist's signature, came out in the shape of a frog!
I finished the piece with vintage chains so that the length of the necklace can be adjusted between 16" and 20.5".
